Alex is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) possessing BS in Dietetics from Michigan State University and an MS in Human Nutrition from West Virginia University. She has been a practicing dietitian since 2011 and worked extensively in skilled nursing facilities helping patients transition from the hospital back home, which has allowed her to work with a variety of people and diagnoses. Alex LOVES food and fitness, and enjoys leading a healthy lifestyle. She strives to find a balance in her life to incorporate it all. Alex is empathetic, compassionate and is very excited about the opportunity to help My Timers to achieve their nutrition goals, no matter how big or small! She develops nutrition programs based on client input and ownership so clients provide the driving force behind goal formulation and execution of action points. When working with Alex, you can expect her to inquire about your perspective, evaluate your needs, and then skillfully create recommendations, suggestions, and action items to add to your routine and lifestyle.
She assumes a “food first” (dietary) approach and counsels clients based on their goals and needs. Her focus areas include sustainable and healthy weight loss coupled with a mindset that promotes self-confidence and improved perception of body image, diabetes management, heart disease related management, chronic disease prevention and/or management, sports nutrition, disordered eating, and more. Alex proactively pursues up-to-date professional development in dietetic trends and counseling techniques (e.g. motivational interviewing, self-management, cognitive behavior therapy, and mindfulness) with a view of empowering her clients to achieve their goals and best health.
